Car Insurance Isuzu (Car Insurance). Mechanic said I need a wiring harness because my car is dying randomly?Mechanic said I need a wiring harness because my car is dying randomly? My mechanic told me I need a wiring harness for my car because the oil leak I had (that they fixed) saturated the wires. So there's one that needs a wiring harness and that will prevent the car from dying again. It loses power but starts back up everytime. Note everything has been replaced except the tranny. Anyone know what wiring harness I would need? I've researched and found there are several for different purposes. What a load of crap time to find a new mechanic that knows shi t from clay Don't be conned good connections with the wiring means the engine will run under water or oil If every car and truck stopped because of oil all over the wiring there wouldn't be much traffic on the road 2 things that make the engine go is fuel and spark. If it runs then stops get him to explain why it stops is it a lack of fuel and why it isn't getting fuel. if not what part is not supplying the spark is it broken ,loose ,missing "Year?" if the Harness has been soaked for a while it's very likely that it has ruined the insulation the one you need is the one your mechanic is talking about. listen to your mechanic. Well if there was an oil leak, i would assume the leak is from the engine, so an engine harness is the one you need. Go to www.automd.com and input your info plus zip. You will find 3 prices, 1 for the dealer , one for local garage and 1 for doing the repair yourself. good luck.... what i would do ask the guys at auto zone if you can use a spray like carburetor and wire hardness to clean the oil soaked wires to clean it.but before you do check out where the oil has gotten to the wires.if you can disconnect the hardness ,show it to them if not ask them.my guess you can clean it with the spray and if you do buy a slip on wiring cover .if you do notice the wiring has melted insulation your strap on cash tape the bare wires with electrical tape and use the wiring slip on cover to protect the wires.your mechanic should of notice the problem from the beginning. If it runs fine cold then as the motor heats up. Your issue is not a wiring its probably the ignition control module or a coil pack. Whats this in a 4 cyc engine? Bet im right. If it start and runs I really question the wire harness issue. Im not there and I cant see it. Something aint right here. I think I would find another mechanic It would also be helpful instead of ESP what are you driving make and model? Auto parts : Brake Spring Tool Acura 1995 . Brake Yoke Alfa Romeo 1996 . Isuzu . Dodge RAM LED Kit InstallationThe Dodge Ram is a full sized truck that can be equipped with a Hemi engine for large amounts of torque. Light emitting diodes (LED) light kits help illuminate the rear of the truck for extra light, day and night. The LED light kit plugs into your trailer light harness and mimics your brake and turn signals for better signaling while driving. The LED light kit is attached with adhesives on the rear of the truck, just below the tailgate. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need LED kit Soap Water Towels Zip ties Step by Step : 1 Wash the rear of the truck with soap and water. Debris and dirt can prevent the adhesive from affixing to the rear of the truck. Additionally the trapped dirt can then lead to early corrosion on the body panels. Make sure to dry the rear of the truck thoroughly as water droplets can also rust the body panels if trapped under the LED kit. 2 Pull the adhesive backing off of the LED kit and push the LED light strip onto the rear of the truck. You want to place the light LED light strip between the tailgate and bumper of the Dodge ram. The adhesive is very sticky so minimize any contact with your skin. Press firmly on the LED light strip for a few minutes to ensure that it bonds properly. 3 Pull the wire plug down and around to the bottom of the truck's undercarriage. You can thread the wire behind the bumper so that it is not so visible. Plug the wire plug in to the towing light harness by hand. Push firmly until the plug will not budge from the light port. Use zip ties to cinch the wire close to the undercarriage so that the wire does not swing free. 4 Turn the truck on and have a friend watch from behind. The LED lights should come on when you press on the brake and when you are signaling a turn. You can perform this test with the truck still in Park.
Isuzu . How to Connect Neon LightsOf the many car accessories on the market, the most attractive are neon light kits that install under the car. They come in many colors and draw attention to your ride. The installation of these kits is simple but requires attention to detail. A high voltage power supply is provided by an auxiliary transformer installed under the car to power the lights. To avoid any problems with the authorities you should install a switch to turn the neon lights off or design the system to only turn on when you flip a switch inside the vehicle. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Neon light kit Marker Center punch Drill and bits Silicon sealant Screwdriver Wire strippers Soldering gun Solder Heat shrink Heat gun Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the negative battery cable to remove any power from the electrical lines in your vehicle. You will need to reset you audio system settings when you reconnect the power. Disconnect the battery to protect both you and your vehicle during the installation. 2 Choose the locations of the lights by marking the underside of the car with the marker. Position the lights along each side of the vehicle. Find locations where the lights will mount directly to the vehicle chassis and will not be visible. Many municipalities have ordinances and laws against neon lights on vehicles, so make sure that you live in an area where they are permitted. Test fit the light tubes in the chosen locations to ensure that they are not close to brake lines, fuel lines, exhaust lines or electrical wires. The location should also not be near moving parts or in areas that become hot when the car is operating. 3 Attach the mounting brackets to the light tube and hold it up to the underside of the car. Using a marker, mark the location of the screws for the bracket. Center punch each location to help the drill start the hole easier. 4 Drill each mounting hole and then place a little silicone sealer on each hole before inserting the screws. The sealer will guard against rust forming. Screw the light tube in place. Make sure that the side tubes mount with the wires pointing to the front of the car. 5 Select a location to mount the transformer. The preferred locations are either under the hood in the engine compartment near the battery, or inside the car under the dash. If you live in a location that has extremely cold weather you should select the interior of the vehicle for the mounting location. Before drilling the mounting holes for the transformer, investigate the region to ensure there is nothing that you will damage when drilling. 6 Connect the transformer to the lighting circuit according to the manufacturer's instructions. If this requires you to splice connections together follow these guidelines: Strip the insulation back 1/4 inch on each wire you will be joining. Slip a length of shrink wrap tubing over the end of the wire on one side of the connection. Solder the two exposed wire together using the solder gun and solder. Add a small amount of silicone sealer to the connection you just soldered. Slip the shrink wrap tubing over the connection and use a heat gun to shrink it in place forming a water-tight seal. 7 Connect the power wire of the transformer directly to one side of a switch on the dashboard that will turn the lights on. Attach a wire from the other side of the switch through the firewall using a grommet to make a water-tight seal. Attach the wire directly to the positive side of the battery placing an in-line fuse along the wire within 18 inches of the battery. Attach the negative or ground wire to the chassis to complete the power circuit. When you activate the dashboard switch, the battery connects to the transformer and the lights should turn on. 8 Go back and firmly tighten all the mounting screws on the lights. Your new neon lights should now work. Many newer vehicles are also equipped with anti-lock brake systems (ABS). This chapter provides instructions for doing preventive maintenance on your brakes and doing checkups that help you to spot trouble before it occurs. If you need professional work done, this chapter also provides tips that enable you to deal on an informed basis with an auto mechanic or brake specialist. En If you haven't read Chapter 10, or if you've forgotten what you read, please go back and review it before continuing with this chapter. Chapter 10 describes hydraulic brake systems on a part-by-part basis, explains the differences between disc brakes and drum brakes and between manual and power brakes, and describes parking brakes and anti-lock brake systems. You must be familiar with what should be happening when you stop your car before you can tell whether the brakes need adjusting. And you need to be familiar with the parts involved before you can work on your brakes. Isuzu . What are the rules of driving a car?

Subaru Justy. * Part lll: KeeP'n9 Your Car in ^ood Condition, System by System Although it's possible to do most of the work in this chapter yourself — it's not terribly complicated — I don't think that you should do major brake work without supervision. If you don't get things back properly, you risk losing much more than you gain! However, if, after reading this chapter, you simply can't stand the idea of having a total stranger replace your worn brake linings, you can always get yourself to a good auto repair class and do the work under an instructor's watchful eye. Auto classes generally have the hydraulic hoists, brake lathes, and other expensive equipment that you need to do a really good job. So even if you're sure that you need no further instruction after reading my enlightened and crystal-clear prose, having the equipment and the instructor's expertise available is still worth the price of enrollment. Extending the Life of \lour Brakes Riding your brakes causes them to wear out prematurely. The excess heat can also warp disc brake rotors and brake drums. Although being cautious is always a good policy, try to anticipate stopping situations well enough in advance to be able to slow down by releasing the pressure on your gas pedal and then using your brake pedal for that final stop. In slippery conditions — or situations that call for slowing down rather than stopping — if you have traditional brakes, pump your brake pedal to reduce speed and avoid sliding rather than jamming on your brakes and Isuzu . Checking your brake pedal If you're like most people, you're usually aware of only one part of your brake system: the brake pedal. You're so familiar with it, in fact, that you can probably tell if something's different just by the way the pedal feels when you put on the brakes. When you check your brake pedal, you simply do the same thing you do every time you drive: You step on the pedal and press it down. The only difference is that, this time, you pay attention to how the pedal feels under your foot and evaluate the sensation you get. The following steps tell you what to look for. Note: If your vehicle is equipped with power brakes (most are), check the brake pedal with the engine running. 1. With the car at rest, apply steady pressure to the brake pedal. Does it feel spongy?
